A Very Fairy Tale is a fashion editorial created for Fashion Rev magazine that transforms classic fairy tales into a contemporary fashion photo-essay. Inspired by stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and The Emperor’s New Clothes, the series blends fantasy storytelling with high-fashion imagery. Each scene reinterprets familiar fairy-tale themes through dramatic styling, expressive models, and cinematic photography, creating a visual narrative that celebrates both imagination and fashion.

This Location Lookbook is a fall fashion campaign photographed by New York fashion photographer Ken Jones for the Brooklyn brand CMOI, whose retail store is located at 3008 Avenue K. The lookbook was shot on location inside the boutique to showcase the collection in the environment where customers experience the brand. The line features custom fabrics with a palette of black, white, and rustic tones. Using Profoto lighting balanced with natural daylight, the images were designed to mimic soft sunlight and create a warm, natural atmosphere that complements the elegance of the garments.

New Masculinity is a menswear fashion editorial photographed by Ken Jones for Fashion Reverie Magazine. Shot on location in a historic East Village mansion, the series uses the architectural environment to shape the visual narrative and add texture and context to the images. Featuring two male models styled in a range of looks—from robes and dinner jackets to chain mail and classic dress shirts—the editorial explores contemporary masculinity through fashion, character, and setting.

C’est Moi is a studio fashion lookbook photographed by New York fashion photographer Ken Jones. The series focuses on strong graphic lines and bold contrast created by the garments themselves. Rather than photographing the collection on a traditional white or gray seamless background, a projector was used to cast soft window shadows onto the background paper. The shadows were intentionally blurred to introduce subtle texture and context while maintaining focus on the clothing. The result adds visual dimension and creates the feeling of an on-location environment within a controlled studio setting.

Wild is a fashion and beauty editorial photographed by Ken Jones that explores a fierce, animal-inspired aesthetic. Leather Belts is a fashion editorial test photographed in November 2020 with model @daria_s_. Inspired by a styling trend where belts are used as wearable tops, the series combines belts from several designers to create sculptural garments. To bring movement and tension into the images, the model uses dance-inspired poses that emphasize motion and body lines. Strong spotlight lighting was used to mimic the dramatic feel of a stage performance, creating a fashion story that blends dance, styling experimentation, and editorial photography.

Silk and Motion is a photographic series exploring movement, fabric, and form. Shot with translucent silk-like fabrics and a model trained in dance, the images capture moments of extreme motion at precisely the right instant. The series is largely monochromatic with subtle hints of color, allowing the movement of the silk and the lines of the body to take center stage. Although the project began as an editorial fashion experiment, the resulting images feel closer to fine art dance portraiture. The style would also translate well as promotional imagery for performers such as singers, dancers, or stage artists who need dynamic visual branding.

Future Boys is a futuristic fashion editorial created for Fashion Reverie Magazine titled The Future is Now. The project explores themes of social evolution and cultural change through menswear styling and digital imagery. The models were photographed in a variety of New York locations—including the studio, rooftop, and city streets—and later composited into digitally created environments to build a futuristic visual narrative. The project reflects a period before generative AI imagery became common, when digital compositing was used to construct imaginative environments that supported the editorial vision. The editorial features designs by Loris Diran, XB OFCL, Nick Graham, and Issey Miyake Bao Bao Bags, styled with footwear by Doc Martens and Demonia. Models Issac McKinley and Vin Wyck embody a forward-looking aesthetic that blends fashion with speculative storytelling. Hair and makeup were created by T. Cooper, completing a series that imagines the future of style in an evolving cultural landscape.

Angel Bounding is a conceptual fashion editorial created as a model test in collaboration with Oscar, booking agent at Major Models NYC. The series features model Ein Tan, photographed in studio using dramatic lighting, wind from studio fans, and expressive movement to create a sense of motion and atmosphere. Hair and makeup were created by the late Melanie Harris, and the shoot was produced by Darrin Jiggets, who represented Ken Jones at the time. Strong fashion photography takes clothing and style beyond the runway. Whether shot in exotic locations or everyday city streets, the process creates a context for fashion that allows the viewer to imagine the lifestyle and fantasy surrounding the clothing. Fashion photography is inherently collaborative, bringing together designers, stylists, models, lighting, framing, makeup, and accessories to create imagery that brings the garments to life. For this series, the model was photographed in the studio and later placed into digitally composited environments created from photographs taken by Ken Jones. These background scenes include locations in New York’s East Village as well as the Queen’s Castle in Copenhagen, captured during a trip to Denmark. The final images combine studio portraiture with location imagery to create a surreal editorial narrative—produced years before the rise of AI-generated imagery.
