Leather Belts

A dance-inspired fashion editorial exploring how a familiar accessory can become a sculptural garment.

Leather Belts began with a simple styling experiment: remove the belt from its traditional position at the waist and reconsider it as the foundation of an entire fashion look.

Belts from several designers were layered, crossed and fastened around the torso to create structured tops with visible buckles, rings, studs and textured leather. Each component retains its original function, but the unexpected placement transforms the accessories into something closer to wearable sculpture.

From accessory to garment

A belt is normally used to complete an outfit. In this series, it becomes the outfit’s central architectural element.

Brown leather, crocodile textures and gold hardware contrast with black leather trousers and flowing pleated pants. The styling balances hard and soft materials: rigid straps sit against the body while lightweight fabric expands through movement.

Close detail photographs reveal the construction of the looks—the stitching, braided leather, buckles and overlapping fasteners—while the wider portraits show how those elements change when the body turns, bends and stretches.

Movement as styling
