White on White is a fashion editorial created for Nu-Mode print magazine, styled by Renesta Olds. The concept centers around an all-white wardrobe, exploring how subtle lighting and composition can define shape and texture without relying on contrasting colors.
In most fashion photography, white clothing is contrasted against darker backgrounds to maintain separation. For this series, the approach was intentionally reversed—white was photographed against white. A large parabolic umbrella placed close to the subject created soft directional light, while carefully feathered shadows around the model helped separate the clothing from the background.
This lighting technique allowed the wardrobe to remain luminous while still maintaining depth and structure, resulting in a clean and elegant editorial aesthetic.
