Wild Hair began as a creative studio test built around hair, nails, movement, and fashion attitude.

The goal was to create a series that felt polished enough for a beauty editorial, but still had the energy and freedom of a model test. The hair was intentionally expressive, the nails were treated as a major visual detail, and the styling brought in a modern fashion edge with pieces from Zara.

This shoot was created in collaboration with a hair stylist and nail technician, with a model from Elite Model Management New York. The images were photographed in the studio with controlled lighting designed to shape the face, highlight the texture of the hair, and bring attention to the hands, nails, and wardrobe details.

Rather than treating this as a simple beauty test, I approached it as a full fashion story  combining beauty, styling, lighting, posing, and direction into one cohesive visual series.
Hair, Nails, Styling & Direction

For this series, the beauty details were just as important as the fashion. The hair created motion and personality, while the nails added another layer of styling and attitude. The wardrobe helped give the images a contemporary fashion feel without overpowering the beauty story.

The lighting was kept clean, controlled, and directional, allowing the hair texture, skin, nails, and styling to stand out with a polished editorial finish.
A Model Test With Editorial Intent

A strong model test should do more than show what someone looks like. It should show range, attitude, movement, and how the model responds to lighting, styling, and direction.
With Wild Hair, the intention was to create images that could live between fashion, beauty, and portfolio development, useful for the model, the creative team, and the overall presentation of the hair and nail work.

The result is a series that feels bold, stylish, and visually direct, while still keeping the model’s expression and presence at the center of the work.

Wild Hair is part of my ongoing fashion and beauty photography work in New York City, combining studio lighting, styling, creative direction, and collaboration with models, hair stylists, makeup artists, nail technicians, and fashion teams.

This project reflects the kind of controlled but expressive studio work I like to create, polished, styled, and technically refined, while still leaving room for attitude, movement, and personality.
